Sierra Leone today joined the global community in marking World Entrepreneurship Day 2026, celebrating the entrepreneurs, innovators, and business owners driving the nation’s economy forward.

The Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation highlighted its engagements with entrepreneurs and investors over the past year, noting that these forums have provided valuable insights into both challenges and opportunities within the country’s business ecosystem.

100 SME Online Programme — Conducted in partnership with Elmari, the programme trained 100 businesses to transition online and strengthen their competitiveness in the digital economy.

SIYB Training of Trainers — Hosted at Felei TechCity in Bo and supported by the International Labour Organisation through the Salone Project with European Union funding, this programme enhanced the capacity of trainers to support MSMEs nationwide.

Entrepreneurship Dialogues — Organised in collaboration with ITC, KOICA, and the Ready Salone Project, these gatherings strengthened dialogue between government and businesses.

The Ministry emphasised that progress in entrepreneurship is achieved through consistent work, effective partnerships, and the persistence of business leaders.

“On World Entrepreneurship Day, we salute every business owner, innovator, and investor building Sierra Leone’s future,” the statement read.
