Sierra Leonean with Both Male and Female Genitals Cries for Help
Binta Koroma Henrietta Aruna, a Sierra Leonean born hermaphrodite has cried out for assistance to raise funds in order to undergo Surgery.
Aruna was born with both male and female genital organs, a condition known as hermaphroditism. She is identified as female due to her physical female features which are dominant.
However, her condition has caused torment and trauma in her life for survival. She said she is being discriminated and is unaccepted by the society she found herself. She claims that people call her evil and some even run away from her.
She spoke to a reporter recounting her story. “ I was born with a male and female sex organs and life has been very difficult for me. I have no place to sleep and have to beg on the street to eat due to the fact that people don’t want to associate themselves with me as they see me as an evil person and that is why I badly need the Surgery.”
Aruna is optimistic that the surgery would remedy the situation.
She therefore appealed to the government, non-governmental organizations and kindhearted people to assist her to raise fund for the surgery.
