Statistics Sierra Leone Regional Office Attacked
Salamatu Y. Kamara During the 2021 population and housing census conducted in Sierra Leone, Statistics Sierra Leone employed over one thousand youths across the country to help in the process.
Recently the results of the census has been announced which makes youths who participated in the process became aggrieved as their salaries are yet to be paid.
Some youths in Panguma Kailahun have attacked the office of statistics in Kailahun as they said payment of their salaries is long overdue.
One of the youth while speaking said statistics has been fooling them as different dates have been given as to when they will have their money.
He said they are sure the government have given them the money for their payment but they are trying to sabotage the government which will affect them greatly if not addressed.
They also disclose that they have reported the matter to the police before heading to the office.
