Two students from the Eastern Technical University of Sierra Leone in Kenema are in police custody for the act of forgery.

Mohamed Vandi of Higher Diploma year 2 Accounting and Finance and Saffa Sellu of the same department at the Eastern Technical University of Sierra Leone were apprehended on Tuesday for forging the signature of the University Registrar.

Sources from the college have it that Mohamed Vandi, a beneficiary of 2021/22 Sierra Leone Government Grant-in-Aid was issued a slip by the Administration to show that he has been awarded the SLG to allow him to register, while Mohamed Vandi made his slip available to Saffa Sellu who was not a beneficiary of the SLG. Saffa Sellu scanned the Registrar’s stamp and also forged the signature and produced the SLG slip for himself.

In a similar development, 30 students have been summoned by the Registrar, John Juana to appear before a disciplinary committee on Wednesday.

It’s not clear whether it’s related to the forgery incident.
