The Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has revealed that Turkish company Summa Group is to construct a new financial city in Lungi.

The Vice President said the construction of the Freetown International airport by the company is the first phase of the project. He added that the company will construct a Five-Star Hotel with an international conference centre and a shopping mall.

Vice President Jalloh said that the airport and administrative buildings are pre-feasibility stages of the Lungi bridge which will mark the transformation of the town into a new financial city.

He said the entire development project is part of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) strategy devised by the government to address the needs of citizens with regards energy, transportation and trade.

The Minister of Transport and Aviation, Kabineh Kallon said that his ministry is committed to playing their part in transforming the country into a competitive touristic destination that is safe, reliable and efficient.
