The newly appointed Director of Taiama Enterprise Academy (TEA), a tertiary institution in Taiama Town, was allegedly robbed of her mobile phone and cash in an incident involving suspected criminals travelling from Bo towards Freetown.
According to sources, the incident occurred earlier on Wednesday, 12 August 2026. The victim, commonly known as Aunty Oya, reportedly boarded a vehicle with registration number AQI 449, after the occupants allegedly pretended to be looking for passengers.
Sources said the vehicle had three men and one woman on board. The victim was reportedly dropped off before reaching the Moyamba Junction, after which the suspects continued towards the junction.

The suspects were later reportedly seen at Moyamba Junction, where one of the female suspects was apprehended and taken to the Taiama Police Station. One of the male suspects was subsequently arrested.
The value of the items allegedly taken, including the phone and physical cash, is estimated at about NLe 7,000.

The matter has reportedly been transferred to the Moyamba Police Division for further investigation.
Authorities are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the identities and possible involvement of the suspects.
