TALLE-Reading Sierra Leone has successfully conducted a three-day leadership training for 10 headteachers aimed at strengthening gender-responsive teaching, school leadership and management ahead of the 2026/2027 academic year.
The training, held from August 26–28, 2026, at the organisation’s conference hall at its headquarters, brought together heads of 10 schools for an intensive programme focused on improving their leadership and management capacities.
The training centred on practical strategies for creating inclusive, equitable and well-managed learning environments where all children can participate and thrive, regardless of gender.
According to TALLE-Reading Sierra Leone, the participants demonstrated a strong understanding of the training and readiness to support teachers and pupils in promoting quality teaching and learning within their respective schools.
At the conclusion of the three-day programme, all 10 headteachers were awarded certificates by TALLE-Reading Sierra Leone. The certificates were officially endorsed by Mr. Sorie Ibrahim Turay, Executive Secretary of the Teaching Service Commission.
The organisation said the recognition reflects the headteachers’ commitment to professional development and their role in strengthening education leadership across Sierra Leone.
TALLE-Reading Sierra Leone further emphasised that investing in school leadership is essential to building stronger and more responsive education systems, particularly in promoting literacy, gender equity and sustainable development.
The organisation congratulated the 10 headteachers on completing the training and expressed appreciation to its partners and supporters for their continued contribution to advancing quality and sustainable education across the country.
