Two men were reportedly caught attempting to dispose of a dead body near the Kissy Road Cemetery along the Hillside Bypass Road on Tuesday, August. 25, according to WeYus Blog.

An eyewitness at the scene said the two men arrived with a bag containing the body and attempted to dispose of it at the cemetery.

According to the witness, one of the men accidentally fell inside the cemetery after they threw the bag, while the other reportedly fled the scene. People in the area then apprehended the man who remained.

The witness said the suspects initially claimed that the bag contained trash. However, people at the scene opened the bag and reportedly discovered a dead body inside.

During questioning, the detained suspect allegedly admitted that he and his accomplice had been paid 200 leones by two men from Eastern Police to dispose of the body.

He further reportedly told those questioning him that the person had been dead since Friday.

Another eyewitness based around Mount Auroel said the two men had allegedly travelled from Mountain Cut with the bag. According to the witness, they initially attempted to leave it at a prohibited location, but people in the area stopped them and directed them to move farther away.

The witness said one of the suspects subsequently escaped while the other was caught by people nearby. He also said the detained suspect repeated the claim that they had been paid 200 leones to dispose of the body.

Some eyewitnesses at the scene speculated that the deceased could have been a victim of kush drug use, although no official source has confirmed the cause or circumstances of death.

A keke rider interviewed at the scene reportedly expressed a similar view.

The circumstances surrounding the death, the identity of the deceased and the alleged involvement of the individuals said to have hired the suspects remain unconfirmed.
