The United States Embassy in Freetown has announced a sealed bid auction for the sale of a range of surplus government assets, including vehicles, heavy-duty equipment, and office furniture.

The auction, organized by the U.S. Embassy Freetown, is open to interested members of the public who meet the participation requirements.

Items on sale include vehicles, a front-end wheel loader, a wrecker crane, fuel tanks, trailers, and assorted furniture.

According to the notice, viewing and bidding will take place on Thursday, 18 June, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the American Embassy Reserve Land in Freetown.

Participants are required to pay a non-refundable entry fee of NLe 50 and present a valid photo identification card. In addition, a security deposit of NLe 1,000 is required, which is fully refundable for unsuccessful bidders.

The Embassy emphasized that all items will be sold on an “as is, where is” basis, and all sales will be final. Sealed bids will be opened after the auction, and successful bidders will be contacted by telephone the following day.

The U.S. Embassy stated that full auction rules, regulations, and payment instructions are available online.

The exercise is part of standard procedures for disposing of surplus assets in line with U.S. government regulations.
