In less than two months after Abdul Karim Kamara, a student at the University of Makeni (Unimak), was mortally stabbed in a robbery attack, a Mass Communication student at the same institution has suffered from violent robbery.

According to Abdulai Sesay, the elder brother of the stab victim, Salman Sesay was robbed and stabbed on Binkolo Makeni Highway, where he (Salman) was posted to work on a project for Restless Development.

“Thieves attacked my younger brother and stabbed him at Binkolo Makeni Highway, where he was posted to work on a project for Restless Development, ” Abdulai Sesay said.

It is further reported that the robbers made way with a bag, phone and other valuable items.

Salman sustained severe stab wounds from the robbery and was taken to the hospital, where he is currently taking treatment.

In recent times, robbery has become a cause for concern in Makeni and its surrounding villages. Reports about how group of individuals forcefully take value properties from defenseless people have sparked widespread concerns.

Some residents in Makeni told this medium about their accidental encounters with robbers.

“Few months ago, on my way home from a nightclub, l was attacked by two gallant boys who forcefully took my phone away from me and threatened to kill me if l did cooperate with them,” Aminata Kamara said.
