In a successful midnight raid, the Operations Team of Waterloo Police Station in Sierra Leone apprehended three individuals and confiscated their locally made canoes, loaded with a significant quantity of timber boards.

The suspects were attempting to smuggle the timber to the Republic of Guinea through the River Rokel.

The ring leader, Pa Koroma, is currently evading capture, but the police have seized a water-pumping machine and several other canoes used in the illicit operation.

The Waterloo Police’s swift action in mitigating crime is being commended by both the local community and authorities.

As investigations continue, the arrested individuals will be prosecuted in accordance with the law, and efforts to apprehend the ring leader, Pa Koroma, are ongoing.
