The West Africa Women and Girls Empowerment Sierra Leone WAWGE-SL is a non-governmental organization which focuses on the reduction of poverty through entrepreneurship in rural communities and advocating for gender equality.

As a way of actualizing its mandate, the organization has donated Agricultural tools to women farmers of Sama Town in Kenema Eastern part of Sierra Leone.
The tools include wheelbarrows, watering can, rake, head pan, cutlasses, etc.

Speaking during the donation, the coordinator for Kenema Sovula Bockarie said, over the years the organization has been supporting women and girls to help improve their lives from abject poverty as it’s the key focus of the organization.
He said as an organization, they will continue to do more in supporting women and girls in rural community Kenema to be precise.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, charlady of the community Miatta Bioma thanks the organization for their support as this in not the first time they are supporting them.


She said, when she was first informed by the organization about their intention to support them with Agricultural tools, she way praying and hoped it comes to pass and she is very delighted it has happened.
She concluded by appealing to her colleague women to use the tools for the intended purpose.
