A video circulating on Facebook features a woman, identified as Mariatu Kanu, detailing an alleged encounter with two men she believes to be ritualists in the Boss Station area of Freetown.

According to Kanu’s account in the video, two men approached her seeking directions to PZ and inquiring about a female herbalist whose vehicle was marked with the word “Bismillah.” Kanu stated she told them she did not know the location or the herbalist, as she was on her way to the market for her aunt.

Kanu further alleges that a third man joined the conversation and claimed that Kanu’s aunt had afflicted her with leprosy, which she denied. She claims that one of the men then held her hand, instructing her to walk quickly without looking back and to avoid seeing pregnant women or nursing mothers.

The alleged herbalist then reportedly spat on a stone, placed it in her hand, and called Kanu’s name four times, after which she claims she lost consciousness.

Kanu alleges that an unidentified man intervened, causing the stone to fall from her hand, at which point she regained consciousness and began to cry.

According to Kanu, two individuals believed to be the alleged ritualists have been arrested in connection with the incident.
