Edward Wright popularly known by his stage name Kontri Boss releases a genuine song which talks about global challenges faced by the youths. The singer titled the song “Black Street Youths” and produced by Splendid speaks factually about the difficulties and raises awareness on the use of drugs which has left so many youths astray.

The song is a lover’s rock song dedicated to the young souls growing up in the tough corners of the world. With smooth rhythms and powerful lyrics, it speaks directly to the youth of Black Street Youths, a famous street in Freetown, Sierra Leone close to the country’s National Stadium. The street is known as the main setting for the youths that engage into violence and drug addiction. Kontri Boss urges the youths to wise up, stay away from drugs, and hold on to their purpose.

Prior to the release of the song, the singer posted on his Facebook page dedicating the song to the youths of Black Street. “Dedicated to the resilient youths of Black Street—symbols of strength and hope in a country that too often turns its back. Despite the weight of neglect and despair, they continue to rise, unshaken.” He posted.

More than just a song, Black Street Youths is a global call for awareness, unity, and strength. It reminds young people everywhere that, while hardship is real and worldwide, so is their potential to rise above it.

Kontri Boss continues to use his music as a tool to uplift and inspire people especially the youths. His lyrics carry purpose, warning against self-destruction and calling for unity, wisdom and cultural pride.
