Parliament is expected to debate and vote on proposed constitutional amendments on Tuesday 28 July 2026, in what analysts describe as a potentially transformative moment for Sierra Leone’s electoral and political system.
The proposed amendments contain several provisions that could significantly reshape the country’s governance framework.
While the government must be held accountable for the reforms it is proposing, political observers say Sierra Leoneans should equally pay close attention to how individual Members of Parliament, particularly opposition APC MPs, cast their votes.
