At a conference held at Central Police Station on Thursday 9th June 2022, the Freetown West Regional Commander Commissioner Victor Manfred Williams said the Chairman Local Partnership Board, Alhaji Hassan Kamara, on Wednesday arrested one Ibrahim Kamara as he was allegedly selling 15-year-old Santigie Fofanah at Big Market on Wallace Johnson Street, Freetown.

He was taken to the Police Station and the suspect Ibrahim Kamara is at the Police custody
helping them in their investigation.

Commissioner Williams also informed press-men that a joint patrol (Military and the Police,) is ongoing at night in the Western Area and beyond to see that citizens are peaceful having their night without any criminals disturbing them.

He said generally the country is peaceful.
In another development, AIG Amadu Mannah said Paramount Chieftaincy Elections are ongoing nationwide without any problem, but the only district that has had problems is Karene district where some voters snatched the ballot box and went away with it, so the election was canceled and the Police swiftly responded and the situation is under control and the district is now calm.

AIG Mannah concluded that the Police is up, watching all over for any form of violence during and after the elections, whether they are paramount chieftaincy, Local, Parliamentary, Chairperson or Presidential elections; they are ready to curb down any violence.
