Rokel Commercial Bank has fed disables and the less Privileged today 18th September, 2023 in Celebration of 24-Year of Excellence in Banking service to Customers.

From their Head office at Siaka Stevens Street to RCBank Branch at Fourah Bay Road, the focus of the food distribution is to feed the poor and homeless.

RCBank’s Director of Cooperate Affairs Madam Millicent Cole who joined staff of the Bank and volunteers to feed the needy, explained that the donation  is one of the ways that the bank appreciates and supports the communities in which it operates, adding that 17th September is  the Bank’s transition date from Barclays Bank to Rokel Commercial Bank. she pointed out that they had a thanksgiving ceremony in the morning hours before they assemble the poor to feed them. She further revealed that most times their celebration takes the form of organizing Party for staff and customers.

Usually over the past years when we marked our anniversary, we organize quiz competitions on radios and those who respond to our quiz questions, at the end of the week we gather them and organize a raffle for them, we would have like a party and celebrate with them but most of these people can afford what we give to them. This year, the Managing Director Walton E. Gilpin gather people who cannot afford even a square meal a day, Give them a decent meal, feed them and let them celebrate with the Bank’s Anniversary, “She noted .

Madam Cole was delighted to contribute her time and effort to the event as they fed the poor and destitute with most of them disables and destitute.

A beneficiary who doubles as the Chairman of Cotton Tree Disable Association, Alusine said, “I am very happy with what you people are doing. This morning I didn’t even know what I was going to eat. I am really surprised.”

Fatmata Kalokoh thanked RCBank for the food and drinks donated by RCBank. She added that this is the first time they have received such donation from a Bank. She calls on the Bank for more support to take them off the streets.
