The Ministry of Health and Sanitation and the National Public Health Agency have released an update on Mpox cases in Sierra Leone as of Friday, May 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM.

The latest data indicates 86 new confirmed cases, bringing the total cumulative number of confirmed Mpox cases in the country to 1,226. The number of active cases currently stands at 923.

The update reports no new recoveries. To date, a total of 294 individuals have recovered from the illness, and the total number of deaths attributed to the Mpox virus remains at 9.

The government is urging citizens to remain vigilant and to contact the national toll-free number 117 if they suspect a case or require emergency assistance. Authorities stated they are continuously monitoring the situation and collaborating with international health partners to mitigate the spread and impact of the disease.

The public is advised to be observant, report any potential cases, and adhere to recommended health guidelines.
