The Leader of the Opposition (APC) in Sierra Leone’s Parliament, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, a renowned Electronics and Electrical Engineer, has called on Parliament to demand answers from the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) regarding the unregulated energy supply that has been damaging citizens’ properties.
Hon. Kargbo called for an investigation into the issue and urged that EDSA be summoned for questioning. “We should invite them for questioning because we have heard a lot of allegations,” he said, referring to the growing concerns from the public about the erratic power supply.
This call follows several reports from citizens whose properties, including household appliances and electronics, have been damaged due to inconsistent electrical supply.
Why now Honorable sir, or is it because your house was burnt because of high voltage? So you see, EDAS has been destroying properties burning houses but no one cares, i hope this will be as an example to all of us that whenever something bad happens we have to stand-up because it’s might happen again to one of us, when savage bridge collapse it was innocent citizens who died but if it was an MP/ minister all the bridges would have been maintained but up till now go and check Tengbeh town bridge, maybe they’re waiting for another innocent life to go before action is taken.
