The Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) has formally announced the expulsion of Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray from the party, citing allegations of anti-party activities and his conviction in a rape case.
The decision was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) on January 22, 2025, by the National Secretary General of the party, Foday Kamara, on behalf of the National Advisory Executive Council (NAEC).
The letter highlighted multiple reasons for Mansaray’s removal, focusing primarily on his alleged involvement in activities contrary to the party’s constitution and principles.
According to the ADP, in 2018, Mansaray engaged in actions aimed at aligning his interests with rival political groups, undermining the unity, discipline, and reputation of the party. These actions were deemed a direct violation of the ADP’s code of conduct and constitution.
Furthermore, Mansaray’s conviction in a rape case, which attracted significant public attention, was noted as a contributing factor to his removal. The ADP stated that his legal troubles not only represented a moral and legal failure but also tarnished the image of the party.
The National Advisory Executive Council conducted a detailed review of the situation before reaching its decision. The council acknowledged the gravity of Mansaray’s misconduct and issued an official resolution to expel him from the party with immediate effeffect
Implications of the Decision
- Loss of Representation: Mansaray is no longer authorized to represent, speak on behalf of, or act as a member of the Alliance Democratic Party in any capacity.
-
Prohibition on Activities: All engagements previously conducted by Mansaray under the party’s banner are deemed null and void.
-
Public Communication: The ADP plans to issue a public statement to inform stakeholders, members, and the general public of the decision.
The ADP reiterated its commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and ensuring accountability within its ranks.
The letter emphasized that this decision aligns with the party’s dedication to preserving its integrity and reputation in the political landscape of Sierra Leone.
The ADP leadership also thanked the PPRC for its attention to the matter, underscoring its determination to uphold the principles of transparency and dedication to public service.
