The Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyer who went to England to spend time with her family has met with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.

The two cities are members of C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group and Cities Change. They have been working together in combating the challenges of climate change and gender inequality in their respective cities.

The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group is a group of 97 cities around the world that represents one twelfth of the world’s population and one quarter of the global economy.

Created and led by cities, C40 is focused on fighting climate change and driving urban action that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks, while increasing the health, wellbeing and economic opportunities of urban citizens.

Yvonne Aki-Sawyer left Freetown on Friday 23rd July, 2021 to spend her one month leave with her family in London. As an industrious woman, she was able to meet with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan and have a discussion about climate change and gender inequality.
