The National Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC), Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh, and the party’s National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya, joined the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) during a governance symposium held in Freetown.
Delivering the keynote address, Ambassador Yansaneh praised China’s transformation into a global economic and political power, describing its development as remarkable.
He also highlighted the longstanding relationship between Sierra Leone and China, saying the partnership has been built on mutual respect, development, and shared interests.
Ambassador Yansaneh recalled the role played by the late President Dr. Siaka Probyn Stevens and the APC government in strengthening diplomatic relations between Sierra Leone and China.
He commended China’s progress in governance, economic development, innovation, and anti-corruption, noting that the country’s experience offers valuable lessons for developing nations.
The APC Chairman further expressed appreciation for China’s continued support to Sierra Leone, particularly through investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and other sectors.
He called for stronger cooperation between the two countries in governance, trade, technology, and people-to-people exchanges.
The symposium formed part of activities marking the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China and brought together government officials, political leaders, diplomats, and other stakeholders.
