APC Signals Readiness for 2026 Census and 2028 Elections
Aaron Parker The All People’s Congress (APC) has declared that it is fully prepared for the forthcoming 2026 national census and is positioning itself strategically for the 2028 general elections, following a recent census sensitisation and seminar for party supporters.
Speaking on behalf of the party, Leonard Balogun Koroma, also known as Logus and Chairman of the APC Census Committee, stated that the party has strengthened its preparedness across all levels through nationwide training initiatives. He encouraged members to ensure they are properly counted during the upcoming census, emphasizing the APC’s commitment to grassroots engagement.
Koroma also addressed concerns raised by opposition statements, particularly comments by the SLPP chairman calling on security agencies to “stop the APC” ahead of 2028. He described such remarks as evidence of the APC’s growing momentum and dismissed any notion that the party could be impeded.
“The APC has never been more united, more organized, or more determined,” Koroma said. “We boast a robust and progressive constitution that stands as a model of democratic excellence. Our faith lies in the democratic process, and the ballot box—not force of arms—will be our instrument of victory.”
He further criticized the current SLPP government, citing economic hardship, weakened democratic institutions, and unfulfilled promises as indicators that Sierra Leoneans are ready for change. Koroma insisted that the APC’s members remain disciplined, committed, and focused on restoring effective governance and national development.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to respecting the will of the people, pledging that no intimidation, manipulation, or propaganda will prevent citizens from exercising their vote freely in 2028.
“The APC is on an unstoppable march toward victory, and the SLPP government knows it,” Koroma said. “The people’s voices will be heard, and their choice will prevail.”
