APC Rejects The Appointment Abubakar Mahmoud Koroma by President Bio as Electoral Commissioner Northern Region
Binta Koroma Members of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party has rejected the appointment of their comrade, Abubakar Mahmoud Koroma by President Bio as Electoral Commissioner Northern province.
According to the Press Release issued out by the party dated the 11th April, 2022 procedures have not been followed in tandem with consultations as provided in Section 32(3) of the Sierra Leone constitution.
The provisions of Section 32.3 of the constitution of Sierra Leone state that: the members of the Electoral Commission shall be appointed by the President after consultation with the leaders of all registered Political Parties and subject to the approval of parliament.
The APC are saying that they have not been consulted prior to the appointment of such position.
