The 21-Men Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC) of the All People Congress (APC) has commenced the electioneering process for the conduct of the much anticipated lower-level and national executive elections scheduled to take place from 5th December 2022 to 19th January 2023. 

The conduct of the electoral executives was one of the orders that were issued out by Justice Adrian Fisher in his recent variation ruling on the contempt charges that were brought against Chairman of the ITGC, Alfred Peter Conteh by the legal representative of the Committee, Lawyer Alpha M. Jalloh.

Already, the 21-Men APC-ITGC has submitted to the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) the list of ratified appointees to run the affairs of the Transitional Interim Independent Election Management Committee (TIIEMC) for the conduct of the lower-level and national delegates’ convention as provided for in the said ruling.

The TIIEMC list contains seven members nominated by the Chairman of the TIIEMC, Lawyer Ibrahim Sorie Kamara, seven members nominated by the ITGC Chairman, Alfred Peter Conteh, seven nominated by the party Leader in Parliament, Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah and a representative each from the party’s Diaspora, Women and Youth wings.

Amongst those nominated to serve in the APC-TIIEMC are Lawyer Adewola Showers, Emma Forna, Sullay Kallon, Aminata Turay, Mohamed Adekali Bangura, Natasha Beckley, Hassan Turay, Hon. Jacob Koroma, Manneth Samuels, Amb. Bockarie Stevens, Hassan Lama Bundu, Amadu Gborie, Ibrahim Sorie Kamara, Sheku Bangura, Hon. Hassan Sesay, Hon. Hariatu Faith Bangura, Lawyer Roland Nylender, Alicious Tamba Lahai, Rev. Reuben Shyllon, Dr Mohamed M. B. Sesay, Victoria Kuyateh, Hon. Amadu Fofanah, Hon. Catherine Zainab Tarawally and Jeneba Kamara.

The 21-Men APC-ITGC has also informed the public that it has commenced new membership registration to update the party’s current membership register.

Speaking to this press lately, the Chairman of the 21-Men Committee, Alfred Peter Conteh said that the new registration exercise was recommended by the PPRC ahead of the conduct of the lower-level elections and National Delegates’ Convention (NDC).

He noted that the process was however previously put on hold by a high Court injunction from Justice Adrian Fisher. Alfred Peter Conteh furthered that flowing the latest peace process within the ITGC, the Committee has now decided to continue with the new membership registration which will be done using biometric machines, and will be carried out within 20 days.

The APC-ITGC Chairman also noted that after the approval of the 25-Men TIIEMC by the PPRC the Leader of the Team, Lawyer Ibrahim Sorie Kamara will release the official timeline for the conduct of all wards, constituencies, districts and regional elections, and will further release the date for the holding of the NDC to elect the new national executive officers and also the 2023 Presidential Flagbearer of the party.

Meanwhile, Alfred Peter Conteh is calling on all members and supporters of the party to come together for a successful victory, come June 24 2023.
