Member of Parliament of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) representing Constituency 066 in Kerene District, North- West Region of Sierra Leone Hon. Mohamed Bangura, and the APC Chairperson of Tonkololili District, Madam Yabom Sesay, will today Wednesday 31st August, 2022 appear in court for various offences.

Hon. Mohamed Bangura and Madam Yabom Sesay have been charged with five count offences of assault, behaviour, intimidation, riotious and obstruction of police duty contrary to law.

According to particulars of offence, on Saturday 11th June, 2022 at Mathora Bangura assaulted Assistant inspector General of Police, Gabriel GMT Tommy, when executing lawful duty.

On the same day and place, both accused Hon.Bangura and Madam Yabom did use insulting words to the annoyance of AIG Tommy to provoke him thereby committing the breach of the peace.

Both accused also on the same day and place with a view to compel AIG Tommy East Region did wronfully and without legal authority intimidated him by a riotous manner to obstruct AIG Tommy when executing his lawful duty.

The matter was supposed to be heard yesterday but it was adjourned to day Wednesday 31st August, 2022.

Meanwhile, both accused have been granted bail by the police.
