Armed robbers in Bo City have gone on the rampage attacking, wounding and robbing innocent and peaceful citizens at night, their latest victim being the Chief Administrator of the Bo City Council, Victor Karlie Kamara.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that at around 2am on Tuesday, robbers armed with cutlasses and other lethal weapons attacked the Chief Administrator around the Moriba Town. The witness furthered that the Chief Administrator was severely wounded with a cutlass; his driver and a boy in his vehicle were also injured with machete and a huge quantum of money taken away from the wounded CA.

The eyewitness who spoke anonymously with Global Times said the whole dirty drama unfolded in her presence and the matter was also reported the following morning on KKISS 104 FM Radio. But the CA, in spite of all efforts, could not be contacted to explain his ordeal with the robbers as he was out of his office and his cell phone switched off.

The previous night, a group of armed robbers raided the Queen of the Rosary, QRS, compound in Bo and put the security under gun point, demanding the whereabouts of the Nuns and when the security could not tell them, he was seriously wounded with a machete. The incident was later confirmed by the school administration.

That same night, a group of heavily armed robbers invaded the Lewabu Community and besieged residents who were making distress calls to the Radio New Song Wake Up Program as the robbers kept firing shots and looting houses.

The heightened spate of armed robbery in the city has caused a general fear of insecurity and many peaceful citizens now fear to venture out at night.

What has made the matter worse is that most of the robbery cases are not reported to the police as confirmed by the Southern Regional Office of the Criminal Investigation Department in Bo.

According to the CID officers, as long as armed robbery cases are not reported to them, they will assume that no armed robbery has taken place.
