The Management of African Young Voices Television [AYV] Investigations committee has issued a Press Release today, Monday 11th September 2023 confirming that they have parted ways with Mr Samuel Wise Bangura and Mr Lawrence J. Light by mutual consent.

The AYV Management earlier set up an investigation committee base on a video circulation on social media involving their staff, Samuel Wise Bangura and Mr. Lawrence J. Light

The Press Release Reads “The report of the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire Investigations Committee (with Legal support from Nicol-Wilson & Co., Malaika Chambers) which was established to look into the activities of two Staff Members (Mr Samuel Wise Bangura and Mr Lawrence J. Light) who featured in a video circulated on social media on or around the 8th of August 2023, allegedly involving some monetary activities has now been submitted to AYV Management.

The Investigation Committee in its report notes that the two Staff Members were working in a private capacity (and not as AYV Staff Members), which was not initiated and sanctioned by the AYV. Notwithstanding the above, the Investigation finds the participation of the Staff Members in the video, to be at variance with AYV Editorial Policy on Investigative Journalism; Conflict of Interest contrary to the AYV’s Public Engagement, Coverage, and Production (CAP) Policy and this may bring the institution into disrepute. In view of the above, and as recommended by the Committee, we have parted ways with Mr Samuel Wise Bangura and Mr Lawrence J. Light by mutual agreement
