The Minister of Social Welfare Mrs Baindu Dassama Kamara has officially launched the Dorwontony Organization for the Aged (DoFA) Centre in Freetown.

The Centre for the Aged which is the first to be established by the Dorwontony Organization for the Aged (DoFA) is located at 10, Albert Street, off Circular Road.

It is expected to serve as an in road for addressing the needs of the Aged. Will also serve as a hub for the planning, implementation and coordination of programmes and policies affecting the aged.

The centre seeks to provide an interactive platform for the aged. Medical assistance, support, among other social services will be provided for the aged in the centre which will also serve as a liaison office between the aged and the government.

The Aged will also have the opportunity to play games in the centre. The centre will not only give them emotional support, but also will have a positive impact on their mental and physical wellbeing.
