The President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio has approved and authorized the Attorney General to Lay in parliament a proposed amendment to the Constitution of sierra Leone that will allow dual citizens be qualified for election as members of parliament.

During the reign of the past government, dual citizens in Sierra Leone were rejected and precluded from being elected as members of parliament no matter how qualified and competent they were. For a long time this law has deprived the state of having some of best parliamentarians just because of being a citizen of different countries.

As a result of how unfair that law had been to the dual citizens of Sierra Leone, President bio saw it as one of the lapses of the previous government and then vowed to himself and promised the people to amend it once he becomes the president of Sierra Leone.

This was another promise made by the President Julius Maada bio which is on course of delivery.
