On Thursday, April 20th, 2023, President Julius Maada Bio hosted a formal presentation ceremony at the presidential lodge to receive letters of credence from five accredited diplomats to the Republic of Sierra Leone

The diplomats consisted of three women and two men, including the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Apostolic Nuncio of His Holiness the Pope, the High Commissioner of Canada, the High Commissioner of Australia, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark.

President Bio welcomed and congratulated the new heads of missions on behalf of his government and the people of Sierra Leone.

He emphasized the country’s peace, stability, and the significant progress his administration has made over the past five years.

The President urged the diplomats to strengthen existing diplomatic relationships between their countries and Sierra Leone, with an emphasis on establishing stronger bilateral ties that would benefit both governments and their citizens.

Later on, the President proposed a toast to the health and excellent relationship between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the five countries.

The new heads of mission pledged their continued support for Sierra Leone’s human capital development policy, capacity building, tourism, cultural exchange, and strengthening mutually beneficial relations.

They expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to them by the President and hoped to represent their countries well in Sierra Leone.
