President Julius Maada Bio on Tuesday, 14th April 2026, at State House in Freetown, received the credentials of three newly accredited diplomats representing the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

In the first engagement, President Bio formally accepted the credentials of Andrey Stolyarov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation stationed in Freetown. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Russia for the mutual benefit of both nations.

In a separate ceremony, the President also received the credentials of Javad Dehghan Haghighi Lotfabadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Welcoming him, President Bio expressed Sierra Leone’s readiness to deepen cooperation and foster strong and continued relations between the two countries.

The President further received the credentials of Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sierra Leone. He congratulated him on the commencement of his tenure and expressed hope for strengthened diplomatic ties between Sierra Leone and Pakistan.

The series of credential presentations underscores Sierra Leone’s ongoing diplomatic engagements and its commitment to expanding cooperation and international partnerships across multiple regions.
