President Julius Maada Bio has turned the sod for the construction of new buildings and rehabilitation of existing ones that needs improvement at the Magburaka Secondary School for Boys in Tonkolili district.

The project will seek to construct new administrative building, new classrooms, new multi-purpose building, new dormitories (45 rooms) building, new staff quarter building and 15 classroom building.

The contractor for the said construction is Castleton Rhodes Commodities (LLC). This was done under  the education sector support project.

Magburaka Government Secondary School for Boys founded in 1950 is a government sponsored secondary school based in Magburaka town in Tonkolili district, Sierra Leone.

The school is one of the oldest secondary schools in Sierra Leone. The Magburaka Government Secondary School for Boys has a history of producing some of Sierra Leone’s most prominent people, including former Sierra Leone’s president Ernest Bai Koroma, former Minister of Education Minkailu Bah of blessed memories and more.
