President Julius Maada Bio has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, ahead of the historic commissioning of the new Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Headquarters Complex.
The Sierra Leonean leader is expected to join fellow West African Heads of State and Government for the official inauguration ceremony, which marks a significant milestone for the regional bloc.

The commissioning of the new ECOWAS Headquarters Complex underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and deepen regional integration across West Africa, as the sub-region continues to advance cooperation in governance, trade, security, and development.
President Bio’s participation in the high-level event highlights Sierra Leone’s commitment to regional solidarity and the collective vision of ECOWAS in promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development among member states.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, President Bio expressed optimism about the occasion, describing it as an important milestone for the ECOWAS Community and reaffirming the importance of collaboration in addressing regional challenges and opportunities.
