President Bio Meets IMF Managing Director to Discuss Sierra Leone’s Economic Reforms
President Julius Maada Bio has met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and her team to discuss Sierra Leone’s economic progress and ongoing reforms.
President Bio disclosed the meeting in a post on X, describing the engagement as “productive and collaborative.”
He said the discussions focused on building on the economic progress Sierra Leone has made while continuing the implementation of key reforms.
“I had a productive and collaborative meeting with the Managing Director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, and her team,” Bio said.
“We agreed to build on the economic progress our country has made as we continue implementing key reforms.”
The President also expressed appreciation to the IMF for its continued partnership and support to Sierra Leone.
The meeting comes as the government continues to work with the IMF on economic reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s economic stability and supporting growth.
Bio also thanked Georgieva and the IMF for their ongoing cooperation with his administration.
