In order to guarantee a respectable funeral for the late national chairman of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, President Julius Maada Bio has offered the family and leadership of the party the full support of his government.
The President said he had expressed “deep sorrow at his passing” and assured the family and party leadership of the state’s support in a social media post after a “solemn” meeting with APC officials and members of the grieving family.
“I met solemnly this morning with the All People’s Congress leadership and the family of Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, the late National Chairman. I conveyed my profound sadness over his passing and reassured the family and APC leadership of my government’s complete support for a respectable funeral.”
He wrote, “May his family find comfort and strength during this trying time, and may his soul rest in peace.”
On Monday, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, the APC’s national chairman, passed away in Senegal. Later this week, his remains will arrive in Freetown so that funeral plans can be made and colleagues, party members and supporters, and the general public can pay their respects.
