President Bio Terminates Board of Directors of SALCAB
Following the Government’s unbundling of the Major services of the Sierra Leone Cable Limited and the separation of the ACE submarine cable from the terrestrial back bone, His Excellency the president, Dr Julius Maada Bio has issued a termination letter to the Board of directors of the SALCAB with immediate effect.
According to a Senior official in the Ministry of information and communications, the ministry signed an agreement with the zoodlabs Sierra Leone Limited in December 2020, to Manage the submarine assets of the SALCAB.
He added that the government, has set up a new company to manage the terrestrial network.
In an interview with the minister of information and communications, Mohamed Rahman Swarray, he disclosed that the ministry is in the process of separating the assets between the two company.
The outgoing chairman of the SALCAB, Sorie Fofanah refused to talk more about the termination but confirmed that they have indeed been terminated.
