APC National Chairman Minkailu Mansaray Passes Away

The opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has been plunged into deep mourning following reports of the death of its National Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, a veteran politician and one of the party’s most influential figures.

According to information circulating within party and political circles on Monday 15 June 2026, Mansaray is reported to have passed away, although official confirmation from the APC and his family is yet to be issued. Details surrounding the circumstances of his death remain unclear at this stage.

Mansaray, a long-serving political heavyweight, has been a central figure in the APC’s leadership structure for years, having previously served as Minister of Labour and later as Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources before rising to become National Chairman of the party.

His political career spanned decades, beginning from his time in Parliament in the early 2000s and later extending into senior cabinet positions under the former APC government, where he built a reputation as a key strategist and party mobilizer.

As National Chairman, he was widely regarded as a stabilizing force within the APC, often calling for unity, internal discipline, and stronger organizational cohesion during periods of political tension. Party insiders credit him with playing a significant role in maintaining internal structures and guiding party operations through challenging electoral cycles.

News of his reported passing has sent shockwaves through the APC rank-and-file, with supporters, colleagues, and political observers expressing disbelief and sadness across social and political platforms. Many describe his departure as a major blow to the party at a critical moment in its political reorganization efforts.

At the time of publication, the APC has not released an official statement confirming the report, and the Mansaray family has also remained silent on the matter. Funeral arrangements, cause of death, and other formal details are yet to be announced.
