The Chief Observer for the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM), Evin Incir has assured that, they will conduct their observation in a strictly impartial manner.

As we approach the June 24th general elections coupled with the launch of the election campaign date for various political parties in the country, several Election Managment  Bodies have been intensifying their outreach and mandate on peace and awareness raising engagement throughout the country.

The European Union has been every proactive in the engagement and outreach on different plattforms.

In her statement, Incir expressed great concern over the observation role and confirmed that, they will do everything possible for the conduct of their observation to be very productive.

“I am honoured to lead EU EOM to Sierra Leone, a country that has an important role to play in West Africa region and on global scale. We, as a EOM, have the mandate to observe the election process and, we will conduct our observation in a strictly impartial manner” he asserted.

The Chief Observer has launched the mission on Tueaday 23rd May, 2023. It is also noted that, the CO has engaged the chairperson for the PPRC, Abdulai M. Bangura to understand their plans that has been made before the start of the campaign.
