The Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Sierra Leone, Francis Ben Kaifala Esq., has met with the Head of Liberia’s Asset Recovery Task Force, Cllr. Edwin Kleh Martin and members of his team to deliberate on key issues relating to asset recovery, strategic communication, and anti-corruption enforcement.

The engagement, held on Friday, 12 June 2026, in Monrovia, Liberia, culminated in a joint press briefing focused on enhancing cooperation between anti-corruption and asset recovery institutions across the sub-region. Discussions centred on the sharing of experiences and the exploration of best practices for tracing, recovering, and safeguarding public assets.

Both sides highlighted the increasing importance of regional collaboration in tackling corruption, illicit financial flows, and the cross-border concealment of proceeds derived from corrupt practices.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment by both parties to sustained collaboration and knowledge-sharing, aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and the effective recovery of public assets for the benefit of citizens.
