The Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone has announced a two days extension of the voters registration exercise in the country, starting from the 7th to the 8th October, 2022.

This announcement was made in a press statement issued out today the 3rd October, 2022 after being satisfied with the turn out and the data collection process in this second phase.

The reason for the extension according to the commission is as a result of the initial challenges encountered with the setting up of the equipment and deployment of staffs which delayed the opening of some centers in the first phase of the registration exercise.

Therefore the extension according to ECSL is limited to only the 1,815 centers of the first phase.

The commission appreciates Sierra Leoneans for participating peacefully and encourage others whom have not registered to take advantage of the extended period and register.
