Former Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan thanked Sierra Leonean and Nigerian officials for their hospitality during his Tuesday visit to President Julius Maada Bio at State House in Freetown.

In a message after the meeting, Jonathan described the engagement with Bio as a pleasure and called the Sierra Leonean president his brother, underscoring the cordial tone of their interaction.

Jonathan also recognised Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Ambassador Ayo Luther Ogbomode, and staff of the Nigerian High Commission for welcoming him during the visit.

He further acknowledged Sierra Leone’s Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Amara Kallon, for joining Nigerian diplomatic officials to receive him at the airport.

The former president’s remarks focused on the hospitality extended by officials from both countries during his time in Freetown.

The visit brought together senior political and diplomatic representatives from the two West African nations, which maintain longstanding bilateral relations.

However, no specific agreements, policy decisions or new cooperation initiatives were identified in the information provided about the meeting.
