Sierra Leone Police Receive ICT Boost from Latter-day Saints and Family Search International
Lamin Sheik Kamara Family Search International, in partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has donated a set of computers and ICT accessories to the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) to improve the institution’s data management and record-keeping systems.
Presenting the items, Bishop Alfred Michael Sesay, accompanied by church representatives, said the donation reflects the Church’s commitment to strengthening institutions that play key roles in national development and public safety. He noted that improved digital capacity will support the SLP in delivering more efficient and reliable services.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sahr Yomba Senesi expressed heartfelt appreciation to Family Search International and the Church. He assured that the donated ICT tools will be used responsibly and specifically for the intended purpose of enhancing the SLP’s operational efficiency.
DIG Senesi also extended the gratitude of the Inspector General and the entire leadership of the Sierra Leone Police for recognizing the organization’s needs and supporting efforts to modernize its data systems.
The event ended with the official handing over of the equipment and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
