First Lady of Sierra Leone, Fatima Maada Bio, has been named among OncoDaily’s 100 Influential Women in Oncology for 2026, recognising women making contributions to cancer care, advocacy and healthcare worldwide.
The First Lady described the recognition as both a humbling honour and a call to strengthen her advocacy for healthcare, particularly women’s health and access to oncology services in developing countries.
“I am deeply honoured and humbled to be recognised by OncoDaily among the 100 Influential Women in Oncology 2026,” First Lady Fatima Maada Bio said. “My sincere gratitude to the OncoDaily team for this meaningful recognition and for creating a platform that celebrates women whose work is helping to transform cancer care and improve lives around the world.”
She said the recognition also serves as a reminder of the need to expand equitable access to life-saving healthcare resources.
“For me, this recognition is not simply an honour; it is a reminder of the responsibility we carry to continue advocating for women’s health, strengthening awareness and prevention, promoting early detection, and ensuring that women have access to quality cancer care,” she added.
“I am proud to stand alongside so many extraordinary women whose dedication, leadership and service continue to make a difference.”
OncoDaily’s 100 Influential Women in Oncology list highlights women working across healthcare and oncology, including those involved in advocacy, innovation, cancer treatment and efforts to promote equitable access to care.
