First Lady Fatima Maada Bio has returned to Freetown following her graduation from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the United States.
She was received in Freetown by senior government officials, dignitaries, and scores of well-wishers who gathered to celebrate her academic achievement.
Her graduation from one of the world’s leading public research universities marks a notable personal and professional milestone. She is widely known for her advocacy for women and girls, particularly through her “Hands Off Our Girls” campaign.

In her dual role as Sierra Leone’s First Lady and President of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), Dr. Fatima Maada Bio has consistently advocated for improved access to education, healthcare, and youth empowerment across Africa.
