The new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, on Monday, 14th September 2026, engaged his ministry staff in a frank conversation about shared priorities and the future of the country’s Foreign Service.
Swarray outlined his priorities for the Ministry, and also took the opportunity to listen directly to colleagues about their experiences, concerns, and ideas for strengthening how they will work and deliver.
Swarray, while addressing staff of his ministry, stated that the strength of the country’s Foreign Service rests not only in the policies and diplomatic engagements, but in the professionalism, commitment and collective effort of the people who serve within it.
“I am encouraged by the engagement and the shared determination to work together to build a more responsive, effective and results-oriented Ministry that advances Sierra Leone’s interests and serves our people with distinction.”
