Thomas Pa Allie Babadie, CEO, Forum of Sierra Leonean Youths Network (FOSLYN) has briefed the press about an alleged matter of sexual harassment at the Rokel Commercial Bank involving its managing director, Dr. Walton E. Gilpin and a female staff.

He disclosed that this undertaking of the said matter was done by himself, the Executive Director of National Center for Human Right and Development and the Executive Director of Citizens Right Network-Sierra Leone

According to Mr. Babadie, they got findings on the matter from newspapers, social media, amongst others. He said because the problem has to do with somebody who has saved the bank in times of crisis and also one who has been a contributing factor to the economic growth of the country, they independently try to know much about the matter because Rokel Commercial Bank has been boosting the country’s consolidated fund.

Mr. Babadie disclosed that their finding was that Dr. Gilpin was never involved in any sexual harassment as accused that the accusation was out of malice. Reading the recommendations, he stated that as professionals are hard to come by these days, the few available ones should not be intimidated, actions by some individuals are inappropriate and they should be put to an end.

He also stated that matters of such should be addressed within the bank by the Human Resource Head and not the governor of the bank.
