The Sierra Leone Police have declared 58-year-old businesswoman Darlinda Weststrate wanted in connection with an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretences involving US$5,600.
According to a wanted notice issued by the Sierra Leone Police, Weststrate is wanted in relation to Criminal Record No. 151/2026 and a warrant of arrest numbered R.R.P.S. 079/2026.
The Police identified the alleged offence as “obtaining money by false pretences” and said the case is being handled through the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at Ross Road Police Station in Freetown.
The notice urged members of the public who may have information on Weststrate’s whereabouts to contact CID Ross Road Police Station or the nearest police station.
The Police also appealed for information that could assist in securing her arrest, stating that a reward would be offered for useful information leading to her apprehension.
Weststrate, a Sierra Leonean, is listed in the notice as a businesswoman. The Police did not provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the alleged transaction or the specific claims forming the basis of the case.
The declaration means Weststrate is being sought by the Police in connection with the allegation; it does not, by itself, establish her guilt.
