Government Unveils Real-Time Data System to Track 600 Development Indicators
Sahid Bangura Minister of Planning and Economic Development Kenyeh Barlay has highlighted the use of real-time data to track 600 key development indicators as Government seeks to strengthen monitoring and accountability.
Barlay disclosed this during the Civic Day USA Edition in New York, where she outlined efforts to transform the country’s public sector architecture and improve the monitoring of national development programmes.
She said real-time data tracking is being used across 600 key development indicators to monitor implementation and measure progress.
The Minister said the approach is intended to strengthen accountability by providing a clearer picture of how national development programmes are being implemented.
Barlay also emphasised the importance of transforming the country’s public sector architecture to improve development outcomes.
The use of real-time monitoring places data at the centre of efforts to assess implementation, identify progress and strengthen accountability across Government programmes.
The presentation formed part of a broader series of sectoral updates delivered to Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora during the New York Civic Day engagement. Barlay is the Minister of Planning and Economic Development in the current Cabinet.
