ICC Prosecutor, Karim A. A. Khan Meets President Bio

The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Asad Ahmad Khan KC has met with Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

In a tweet, the International Criminal Court said the meeting centered around positive discussions on strengthening cooperation and deepening regional dialogue in fulfillment of the Rome Statute.

Confirming the meeting, President Bio expressed delight at the event adding that it was a discussion about Sierra Leone’s leadership at the International Criminal Court and our tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

“Prosecutor Karim Asad Ahmad Khan KC called for the excellent partnership between Sierra Leone and the ICC to be strengthened. This includes calling on Sierra Leone to assume leadership of the African members of the UN Security Council (A3) on accountability and ICC matters.” Bio said.

He further mentioned how Prosecutor Khan extolled Sierra Leone’s commitment to the rule of law.

“During the meeting, I reiterated Sierra Leone’s commitment to promoting accountability and #humanrights protection during our tenure at the Security Council.

“I also emphasised my government’s readiness to continue our leadership role in supporting the effectiveness of the ICC as it continues to operate within its mandates and with constituency.

“I expressed our readiness to work with the ICC during our tenure at the Security Council to advance priorities to help build a just, safe and secure world.” He added.

All I see here is one side standing up for our right, another the others, everything is going on in Sierra Leone as it supposed to be. Here is an election where in before the results are to be announced, the united state of America, the big dogs that we rely on, telling you Bio to stop the announcement and make thorough tabulations of the results. You know what that means? It is simple stating that your government will not be international recognized by the West. And don't tell me who care? Because even simple onions we don't have. To come to topic, whatever discussion between ICC and Bio, we will not know. But to call you in for discussion means a checkmate in on you now. Camera focus on you. Let people don't fool us. The ICC has nothing to do with the security council. Not every nation at the UN sign up to the ICC. So Sierra Leone being given a temporary sit for one year has nothing to do with ICC. ICC is always concerned about human right violations. Bio will come to justice. He never shoot no body personally. But allowing police and the military to use deadly force on civilians is not good and must be condemn. If half of the country is not happy with you and your rule, what are you to do as some one who said I am president of a nation? You obey the rule of law and engage a dialogue to know how to apiece the other half. We Sierra Leone love our country. Some nations like somalia don't care. They will keep on fighting till they reduce their country to a fail state. I hope people wise up and condemn wrong doing and applaud good deeds.

Now to my brothers and sisters, what is the way forward for our nation? We have all seen a summary outcome of the meeting we were all looking forward to, either positively or negatively. My take right now is that we have TWO OPTIONS. (1) to tone down our voices and actions against our country and move this country forward with positive vibes so that respect and dignity will come to us, which in turn can invite investors and more visitors to our country or. (2) increase the volume of negativity and inviting more destruction upon ourselves and our image to the outside world, so that we can be thrown out of the 'Security council' and be seen as unserious nation and neglected by the outside world...
